Offered for sale is an early pair of King Street (1915 – 1935) Campana style Royal Crown Derby urns painted in cobalt with named scenes. The gilding is superb and attributed to Albert Haddock, known for his superb techniques. The scenes are titled underneath “View of Derby” and “Windsor Castle”. They are painted both back and front.
The deep cobalt ground is embellished with gilt scrollwork and each urn has two lion head handles on each side. The urns are in very good condition with very minor gilt wear, almost as if they had never been touched. They would make superb cabinet or bookshelf pieces.
