Offered for sale is an amazing pair of late 18th century plates from the Derby factory during the William Duesbury period. They feature serpentine borders with gilt framed vignettes of hand painted birds alternating with panels of incised/impressed florets. The center is painted with a floral sprig surrounded by gilded and raised swirls.
These plates are similar to pieces found at the Meissen factory imitating their Schneeballen (snowflake) wares. They are quite beautiful, finely detailed and in pristine condition.
Size 8 ½” Diameter.
