Presented for sale is a lovely early 19th century Empire Paris Porcelain cup & saucer. The cup is gilded with a large scenic seascape vignette. It is accompanied by a matching saucer.
There is an early tag on both pieces that state the set to be Nyon Porcelain, Switzerland, but we believe the set to have been made by Jean Joseph Lassia, est. late 18th C., evidenced by a cursive "L" impression on the saucer and the shape of the cup handle.
Both are in excellent condition; the cup has minimal gilt-wear, the saucer has slight wear to the gilt banding commensurate with age.
Size of Cup: 2 ½” Height
Size of Saucer: 4 7/8” Diameter.
