Presented for sale is a stunning three-tiered Dessert Tazza from the prestigious Paris Porcelain firm of Edouard D. Honore, circa 1850, in the high Rococo style. The tazza is decorated in apple green ground colors with gilt in abundance and a painted armorial on the base. Similar pieces were made by this firm for American President James K. Polk. One single plate recently sold at Christies for over $4,000.
The tazza is in very good condition with hardly any gilt missing, a rare thing for Paris pieces. There is a tight hairline to the interior of the base which looks more like a firing flaw than actual damage as it’s not seen going through.
Size: 17 ½” Height by 9 ½” Diameter.
