Offered for sale is a three-piece English Coalport Coalbrookdale garniture set of vases, each with two handles encrusted with flowers, circa 1830-45. Each vase is decorated front and back with a scenic landscape hand painted in the center surrounded by delicately molded flowers. The vases are rendered in the Rococo style with looped handles and scrolled pedestal bases.
These flower encrusted pieces are a delight to behold as each flower was molded painstakingly by hand then painted in glorious soft colors. Several English manufacturers made pieces with encrusted flowers, but we find our favorites are the Coalport examples, the flower molding is just magnificent.
The set is in excellent condition, out of a fine collection of 19th century English pieces, a true treasure trove when one is found. There is an old hairline on on of the handles. There are probably a few flea bites on some of the flowers, but with so much going on quite inconsequential. Put them in a cabinet, where these have surely been kept, and enjoy them for another 100 years.
