Offered for sale is a stunning Worcester tea cup and stand in their famous "Jabberwocky" pattern, Dr. Wall period, 1755. The fluted cup and stand are decorated in this fantastical pattern depicting a dragon beast perched on a branch with a turquoise foliate border.
This pattern was once called “Fine Old Rich Dragon’s Pattern”, and was copied from a similar Meissen pattern. After 1871, collectors renamed it the "Jabberwocky" pattern after the beloved poem by Lewis Carroll.
The set is in excellent condition.
