Offered for sale is a magnificent matched pair of early to mid 19th century flower encrusted potpourri vases with accompanying covers. The vases were made in England by Coalport in the style of Coalbrookdale, which was produced for a short period of time during the early to mid 19th century. These vases represent the skilled and time-consuming artistry of modeling flowers and applying them to the shaped surface of a piece. The incredible life-like crispness of the early pieces is nothing short of extraordinary. Equally impressive is the subtle blending of colors so softly matched that they are in perfect unison with one another.
The pair of vases are quite rare, we’ve only had one other set, and these are in very good condition. There has been restoration to one of the arched handles and two leaves; a couple of the flower petals are chipped, however, the condition of this pair is the best we’ve seen for such large pieces.
Size: 17 ½ Height; 9” Width (handle to handle).
