Presented for sale is a rare late 19th century Minton Majolica game pie dish molded in crisp relief and painted in bright colors. The lid is decorated with a hare, a grouse, and a duck laid on a bed of ferns, the handles is a grape vine. The base is modeled as a basket decorated with grape vines and leaves with pierced handles.
These game pie dishes are quite collectible and the Minton pieces have become very desirable and have recently brought huge prices at auction. This one is in excellent condition, with no damage or repairs to be noted. It's truly a piece for the connoisseur who appreciates a perfect example of this form of art.
