Presented for sale is a handsome 19th century Baltic bibliothèque or bookcase in mahogany wood inlaid with brass. The top is crested with a broken arch centered with a brass urn and flanked with pineapple finials over a paneled frieze. The case has two bevel-glazed doors finished at the base with raised panels outlined in brass. The doors are flanked with Corinthian inlaid columns and the interior is fitted with wooden shelves.
The plinth base is raised on substantial Toupee feet, which along with the sides, are also stepped up with brass inlays.
The cabinet has a locking escutcheon and is in very good estate condition with some small chipping to the wood commensurate with age and use. The piece can be disassembled by removing 4 bolts, so to make shipping easier.
