Presented for sale is a fascinating Knights Templar officer's ceremonial sword made by the famous Pettibone Brothers Manufacturing Company. The sword is circa late 19th century and the scabbard is decorated with raised Medieval imagery. The sword has a steel blade which is acid etched with imagery and a dedication to T. H. Dudley, possibly Thomas H. Dudley (1819 – 1893), Camden, NJ. The grip is bone, decorated with Scrimshaw style lettering and the scabbard is silver plated with decorative sleeves and enameled crosses.
The sword is in good age related condition with wear to the scabbard and some residue from attempted cleaning of long ago.
