Offered for sale is a stunning 19th century Sheffield silverplate epergne or compote with reticulated sides raised on an oval stand in the manner of Paul Storr. The epergne is decorated with swan handles having outspread wings on each end with lion mask heads in the center. Every thing about this piece appears to be of the finest craftsmanship, so delicate and intricate are the castings.
The epergne is in very good condition with some use scratches present to the interior of the bowl. Marked as shown with cross inside an oval.
