Presented for sale is a large impressive porcelain figure of a Cockatoo created by Porcelalin de Paris, firm of Bourdois & Bloch. The cockatoo is shown with his crown extended perched on a branch encrusted with fruits. The bird is exceptionally decorated in vivid hand painted enamels and is circa early 20th century.
The firm of Bourdois & Bloch founded by Jean Marx Claus in 1864 was known for the beautiful hard paste luxury porcelains in the styles of Meissen, Sevres, and Royal Vienna. Their porcelain was of the utmost quality and their hand decoration unsurpassed.
The figure is in excellent condition, a treasure for the collector of fine porcelains.
