Presented for sale is an exquisite pair of German porcelain chocolate cups with covers, or Pots de Créme decorated by Georg Heufel & Co. in hand painted panels of flowers and raised giltwork. The cups are raised on animal paw feet with twisted snake handles decorated in gilt. The covers are domed, with a finial. The workmanship is outstanding and the porcelain is in all likelihood Meissen blanks.

Georg Heufel & Co. was a Dresden decorating shop founded by its namesake around 1891. He decorated porcelain blanks in the style of Royal Vienna and Meissen. Extremely talented in both decoration and repair, he immigrated to the United States in 1901 where he worked for Lenox Inc.

The cups are in excellent condition, with very minor paint loss; one lid has a tiny chip to the inside of the rim (not seen when displayed). They would make excellent cabinet pieces for display.

Size of Cup With Cover: 4 ½” Height
