Presented for sale is an early 20th century alabaster and marble bust carved by Adolfo Cipriani, 1880 – 1930. The bust depicts a young woman wearing a winged and peaked Dutch-style hat and a large rose attached to her dress. The rose was typical of Cipriani’s style.
Adolfo Cipriani was an Italian sculptor of immense talent whose sculptures can be found in major museum and private collections. His finely detailed pieces seem to celebrate the more feminine figures.
The bust is in very good condition with a small restoration to a chip at the edge of the hat. It is signed on the back.
