Offered for sale is a mid 19th century hand painted English Minton porcelain dessert. The set consists of 12 luncheon or dessert plates, 2 low comportes, 2 raised comportes, and 2 sauce tureens with covers. The set is decorated with a pierced cobalt edge highlighted in matte gilt fleur de lis surrounding a purely white center, each piece hand painted with a different botanical. The plates and serving pieces are like works of art.
The painted detail is outstanding and the ensemble presents a dazzling display. It is rare to find a set complete with the matching serving pieces. Take note of the magnificent scrolled stands that raise two of the comportes and 2 of the tureens.
