Offered for sale is a superb example of Royal Worcester porcelain in the form of an urn with cover. The urn is attributed to James Hadley, 1837 – 1923, who modeled porcelain exclusively for Royal Worcester until 1895. He was known for his amazing pierced pieces, but also created works in the Art Nouveau and Aesthetic Movement styles with incredible glazed finishes and hand decorated florals.
The vase is certainly a commissioned piece carried by Tiffany & Company and features an unusual grey blush shading to peach. The front and back are decorated with niches containing the figures of muses accompanied by brush gilt dragon handles. The vase is raised on an Egyptian style scrolled pedestal and finished with a corked cover topped with a cherub finial holding a lantern.
The vase is in absolute pristine condition with little to no wear to the gilded sections. It is a true conversation piece for the serious collector of 19th century Royal Worcester porcelain.
Size: 15” Height.
