Offered for sale is a beautiful Dresden porcelain reticulated center bowl made by Carl Thieme, Potschappel, Saxony, Germany. The lozenge-shaped bowl is raised on scrolled feet and is decorated with panels of hand painted flowers to the interior and exterior with serpentine-shaped edges.
Carl Thieme, a talented porcelain painter started producing his own hard paste porcelain in 1872. He hired talented flowers modelers and painters, one being his son-in-law who introduced Dresden porcelain to international markets. The porcelain produced by the Carl Thieme factory has always been of the highest quality.
The bowl is in excellent condition; the painted enamels are vivid with strong coloration and the gilding is intact; a stunning piece for the center of a table or sideboard.
