Presented for sale is a magnificent 1891 Royal Crown Derby vase in the Aesthetic movement style in a kelly green background. The Asian influence is predominantly seen throughout the design and decoration of this piece with its raised gilt enameling in the form of a large peony bush and additional meandering foliage. The contrast between the impasto gilt work and the lush green background is truly amazing, something at which the painters at Royal Crown Derby excelled. The baluster shaped vase ends in a cup formed pierced lip and is supported on a panel shaped base.
The vase is in excellent condition with a restoration to a lobe on the rim, and to one of the foot panels.
Size: 13 ½” Height.
