Offered for sale is an English early Edwardian Hepplewhite style paint decorated satinwood armchair. The chair features an open shield-shaped back, the lovely splat decorated as a floral wreath with a neoclassical medallion in the center supported by trailing ribbons. The frame of the chair, arms, and legs are decorated with floral and bell flower designs. The caned seat is covered with a loose padded cushion.
The chair is in very good condition with an intact caned seat, and the structure is sturdy. There are signs of some paint loss commensurate with age and use, adding to the charm and antiquity of these fabulous chairs.
