Offered for sale is a rare 1815 French First Empire period Sevres porcelain reticulated basket. The centerpiece comprises a reticulated navette-formed gilt and biscuit basket molded with bands of anthemions attached to an bronze base. The basket is supported by draped putti bearing aprons of fruit and standing on pillows, surmounting a shaped base raised with an reticulated frieze of anthemions and papyrus leaves.
The basket is marked for the Empire period of Sevres, 1804 – 1815. It is in excellent condition, a superb example for the collector of Sevres porcelain.
