Presented for sale is a fine example of early Chamberlain’s Worcester porcelain, circa 1820 – 1830. This is a shell-shaped dish with gadrooned edges, decorated with a wide yellow border interrupted with oval vignettes that are hand-painted in botanicals and edged with gilt drapery.

The Regent body was presented by the Chamberlains in 1811 and was seen as the new standard for English porcelain. It was exceedingly costly to make, and the earliest wares were distinguished by their high artistic standards.

The dish is in good age-related condition with minor gilt wear, discoloration and crazing present. Unmarked as shown.
