Presented for sale is a matching set of six (6) Royal Crown Derby dessert plates, date 1877-1890, in their popular King's pattern. The plates are decorated in rich underglaze cobalt blues and vivid iron red enamels highlighted in gilt.
This endearing Imari pattern is one of Derby's most sought after designs, the underglaze cobalt blues and iron-ore red enamels have a timeless appeal that have kept collectors seeking these wares for almost two centuries.
It is getting most difficult to find even one 19th century piece of the King's pattern; we are offering a set of six in very good condition with minor to no enamel or gilt wear. They have various marks, as shown. We have another 6 of these plates listed separately.
