Presented for sale is a late 19th century Chinese hardwood hand carved stand with four legs and a marble top. The top has a scalloped edge fitted with its original round marble. The frieze is highly carved in nice crisp detail. There were many levels of quality in stands of this type being made in China during the latter 19th century and into the early 20th century. The quality of this one is upper level. The curved legs are also nicely chiseled and connected at the bottom with a pierced panel.
The stand is in very good condition with minor age related shrinkage to some of the joints, quite common in pieces of this age. It is very sturdy.
Size: 37" Height; 19" Width.
