Posted for sale is a fabulous matching pair of early 19th century English porcelain Rhytons or libation cups terminating in antlered stag heads. The Rhytons are shaped in the form of a cornucopia with flared edges heavily encrusted with floral bocages. They terminate in stag heads and are mounted on a scrolled base with finger handle. We attribute these pieces to early Coalport/Coalbrookdale. They are magnificently presented with hand painted details; a very showy and rare pair for collectors of fine English porcelain.
The Rhytons are in excellent condition with perhaps a few minute age-related chips to the flowers.
