Presented for sale is a fabulous pair of French Empire early 19th century Paris Porcelain vases mounted in ormolu and later fitted as lamps. The Sienna background is hand enameled in Sepia Grisaille with Boucher like figures in landscape scenes. The vases are mounted on a socle atop a platform base and further decorated with vasiform ring handles. Once oil lamps, the vases have been attributed to the Porcelain de la Courtille factory founded by Jean Baptiste Locre in 1773.
The lamps are in excellent condition having been restored with new wiring, shade fittings, and custom silk shades. They are ready to plug in and dazzle any décor. The bronze has a lovely aged patina to the surface.
Size: 29 ½” Height.
