Presented for sale is an outstanding pair of early to mid 20th century giltwood carved deer head wall mounted mirrors in the Rococo taste. The mirrors feature an oval frame carved with acanthus leaves finished at the base with antlered deer heads nesting in a leafy cartouche base. The carving is detailed and crisp, and the form is very unique.
The mirrors are in excellent condition with some restoration to the antlers and scroll points. The glass is originally aged with some wear charmingly shown and the back is finished with aged paper. These mirrors are superb for use anywhere but would look dashing in a huntsman's den or a wood-beamed lodge. The mirrors mount to the wall via a bar with an added bracket at the top for extra support.
Size: 30” Height by 19” Width.
