Presented for sale is a pair of 19th century American Federal style tiger maple armchairs. The neo-classical, klismos influenced chairs have horizontal concave backs with carved splats. The chair cushion lifts up and is pegged to the seat rail. The chairs are supported on fluted legs.
The chairs are in good age-related condition and retain a rich amber patina with some surface wear present. There is a restored split to one of the top rails, as well as repairs to some of the legs. The paneled seats have been recently reupholstered with a complementary designer fabric.
Size: 33” Height by 20 ½” Width by 19” Depth.
