Presented for sale is a mid 19th century Meiji period Imari charger in octagonal form. The charger features hand painted panels of dragons, koi, and landscapes alternating with florals on a cobalt ground, all surrounding a center medallion.
The back is decorated and the charger is in excellent condition, the surface having a few factory pock marks. There is edge wear to the gilding and minor enamel flakes to the surface.
