Offered for sale is a charming pair of Louis XV French Provincial early to mid 19th century five legged bergeres or armchairs with small wings. The fruitwood frame is molded and exhibits pegged construction with three cabriole legs supporting the front and two in the back. They are of petite size, typical for older 18th and 19th century pieces.
The chairs have been reupholstered and the springs re-tied for added support. The fabric is a soft golden cream damask that complements the rich warmth of the aged frames. The frames exhibit some age-related separation typical for older curved and carved pieces, which does not affect the sturdiness.
Size: 42” Height by 25” Width by 20” Depth.
