Presented for sale is a rare George III Sheraton inlaid dressing table or petite lowboy sideboard of stepped form with concave sides. The shaped top features satinwood banded edges centered with a large oval inlay containing an urn. The center frieze contains a deep drawer, which is flanked with concave sides each fitted with two hinged doors. The smaller top doors conceals drawers, while the larger lower doors conceal a cabinet space. It is raised on tapered legs which are beautifully inlaid with bellflowers, urns, and paterae. The reverse reveals tenon through mortise construction.
The piece is in excellent condition with minor signs of age, and some age-related shrinkage to the inlaid banding. There are no breaks to the doors, legs, or hinges, which appear to be original.
Size: 32 ¼” Height by 37” Width by 18 ½” Depth.
