Presented for sale is a magnificent late 19th to early 20th century French patinated bronze chandelier. The chandelier features a finely chased bronze cage-form tiered frame with six down-swept arms terminating in tulip shades. A cherub is perched between each pair of arms and holds a lighted torch while sitting atop a face mask. A ribbed crystal bowl is topped by a conical cut crystal shade, and the frame terminates in a large bronze corona. The bottom of the chandelier is fitted with drop prisms.
The chandelier is signed Lebrun, Tardieu, and is of the highest quality with crisp detailed casting throughout, finely cut crystal, and an unsurpassed patina to the bronze. It has been totally rewired by our lighting restorer and is ready to hang. The chandelier is extremely heavy and must be crated for shipment. It is in excellent condition, a rare and elegant masterpiece of French artistry.
