Presenting for sale is a superb pair of Meiji period (1868 – 1912) Japanese Satsuma vases in hexagonal form. They are richly painted in gilt with panels of scholars in a garden setting surrounded by floral and geometric motifs.
The vases are in excellent condition with minor signs of age related wear mostly seen on the rim, ribs, and base. The painting is very finely executed and they have an impressed signature on the bottom.
Size: 12” Height.
