Offered for sale is a mid 19th century French Baccarat glass inkwell with swirled design of square shape. The inkwell closes with a large hinged silverplated, knobbed top decorated in Repousse. The glass is not marked but guaranteed to be Baccarat and extremely heavy (5 lbs overall); a real quality piece.

The chased top has a dark wash to the Repousse, which contrasts to the smooth silver top and collar. The inkwell is in excellent condition with a tiny chip to one of the bottom corners; not immediately discernible.
