Offered for sale is a lovely 18th century Delft tin glazed polychrome plate with serpentine edge. The dish is decorated in cobalt blues with predominant iron red enamels highlighted in gilt.
This plate is typical of the tin glazed pottery that was made in imitation of the Chinese and Japanese wares exported by the Dutch East India Company from 1630 to the mid 18th century; marked as shown.
The plate is in very good condition with age related chips (mostly glaze) to the edge and border of the plate. It comes with an older plate hanger that is still usable and will be sent with the plate.
