Offered for sale is a magnificent early 20th century Louis XV style bronze mounted onyx chandelier. The large onyx bowl is supported by three bronze uprights that are shaped as tied ribbons and attach to a heavy cast bronze corona. The bowl attaches to the uprights and is held in place by heavy leaf and vine cast bronze mounts that terminate in leafy nozzles. The interior of the chandelier lights with six bulbs.
The chandelier is best viewed by looking up at the fixture as the beautiful subtle lighting glows from the interior and casts a golden aura on the incredible bronze mounts. It is very heavy and will need to be crated for shipment.
The chandelier is in very good condition with some filler used in the interior to strengthen the veins of the old onyx that tend to open up with age, this is barely noticeable from the exterior. Our lighting expert has restored the entire electrical works of the chandelier and it is ready to hang. This is a formal piece but would look stunning with any style décor or in any room of the house.
Size: 41” Height (top of corona, does not include chain) by 25” Diameter.
