Offered for sale is an exquisite KPM Berlin porcelain plaque decorated by the Heubach brothers, circa 1870 - 1900. The plaque is a finely executed copy of a painting titled the “The Hermit” by Dutch artist, Salomon Koninck (1609 – 1656). Koninck, a contemporary and admirer of Rembrandt’s work, often painted in the same style. Indeed, one of his pieces was originally thought by art historians to be a Rembrandt.
The plaque is beautifully hand painted in fine detail and is in pristine condition. It has been set into a heavy giltwood composition frame and is protected under glass.
