Offered for sale is an enchanting 19th century French porcelain trio made by Samson in the style of 18th century Chelsea porcelain. Samson & Cie was known as the great imitator and made hard paste copies of earlier 18th century ceramics from famous manufacturers such as Meissen, Chelsea, Royal Vienna, and Sevres.
The trio is beautifully modeled in fine detail with floral encrustation surrounding buccolic figures and their animals set on Rococo bases. Samson's workmanship was of very high quality with vivid hand painted finishes and decoration that actually rivaled the beauty of the earlier pieces that they copied.
The trio is in very good condition with restoration to one of the arms and some of the floral tips. It is marked "Made in France" as shown.
Size: 8" Height (center figure).
