Presented for sale is an early 19th century English Regency mahogany tiered tea-table with lift off glass tray. The ovular table is supported on flared legs braced with fan-inlaid brackets and bottom stretchers that terminate at a center platform. The top tier is raised on curved legs and supports the tray.
The table is very elegant with string and patterned inlays contrasting sharply with the rich patina of the mahogany woods. It is in very good age-related condition with a slight wobble, typical for these delicate tiered tables. The stretchers have been reinforced close to the center platform where there have been a couple of past fractures. It is now stable. There is also age-related wear to the finish and minor separation to the vertical inlays on the edge of the tray, left as is, so as not to disturb the patina.
Size: 34 ½" Height by 35 ¾" Length by 21 ¾" Depth.
