Offered for sale is an English George III Pembroke satinwood table of rectangular form, circa 1800 – 1830. The rectangular drop leaf features an oval marquetry medallion in the center and is edged in a wide band framed with pencil-line inlay. The frieze contains a single drawer and the table is raised on tapering legs.
The table is in very good condition; there is some fracturing and slight lifting of inlays on the top, typical of English pieces this age. There is also evidence of minor inlay repair. The table is a fine example of the form popularized by such esteemed British cabinetmakers as George Hepplewhite, Robert Adams, and Thomas Sheraton.
Size: 29 ½" Height by 35 ½" Depth by 20" Width (42" Width With Leaves Open).
