Offered for sale is a beautiful Worcester Flight period shanked (fluted twirl) tea bowl with a matching saucer. The ensemble is decorated in wide double borders of gilded meandering bellflowers interrupted with cobalt daisies. A floral sprig embellishes the center. The cup and saucer are a wonderful example of the more formal style of decoration seen in the late 18th century when Worcester started producing finer china of exceptional artistry. Both pieces are marked with the early Worcester crescent mark.
The teacup and saucer are in excellent condition with little to no sign of gilt or enamel wear.
Size of Teacup: 2 1/8" Height
Size of Saucer: 5 3/8" Diameter.
