Set of Twelve Davenport Plates, Pattern Number 6 Color, 1845
Presenting for sale a rare matched set of twelve Davenport transfer printed plates, circa 1845, pattern Number 6 with color and lustre rims. This is one of the most popular patterns made by Davenport. It was copied by both Masons and Ashworth and was also known as the Flying Bird pattern.
The plates would be splendid for display and are in excellent condition with the following exceptions: one plate has a tight spider hairline on the back showing through about one inch to the front; there is some wear to the lustre rims and minute print wear on a few plates; one plate shows evidence of restoration to the back. They all display very nicely from the front.
Size: 9 ½" Diameter.
