Offered for sale is an exceptional pair of mid to late 19th century Napoleon III Bronze seven light candelabras attributed to the firm of Alfred Emmanuel Louis Beurdeley (1818-1895.) The candelabras rest on a footed tripartite base and are adorned with finely cast upright scrolls and foliate-wrapped spirally turned branches.
The Beurdeley family was a highly respected dynasty of French furniture makers and exceptional metalwork artisans. They commonly based their models on earlier 17th and 18th century designs and copied them so fastidiously that they were often mistaken for the originals.
The candelabras are in excellent condition with two replaced bobeches later cast to imitate the originals. Various castings are stamped with a "C" as shown. The pair is of superb quality for the serious collector of fine French pieces.
Size: 23" Height by 10" Diameter (approximately).
