Presented for sale is an extraordinary set of five hand painted Ambrosius Lamm Dresden cabinet plates, each depicting game animals in their natural habitat. The finely detailed paintings are signed by the German artist, Carl Robert Pohl (1891), and each plate is enhanced with a raised gilt-impasto border.

Ambrosius Lamm was regarded as one of the premiere 19th and early 20th century Dresden porcelain decorating shops, establishing his business in 1887. Regarded as a perfectionist, he usually used Meissen blanks as his canvas and decorated in the style of Meissen, KPM, and Royal Vienna.. Unfortunately, his studio was destroyed in 1944 by the bombing of Dresden in World War II, but his pieces remain beloved and highly sought by collectors.

The plates are in excellent condition with minor scratches and gilt wear to a few of the plates.

Size: 10" Diameter.
