Offered for sale is an exquisite early 19th century porcelain snuff box decorated in the Sevres manner but made by Feuillet at Rue de la Paix. The box is decorated in a bleu de roi ground with bands of gilt and floral sprigs on white. The lid and sides are embellished with a black medallion enameled with musical instruments in a white slip.
The box is marked with a spurious Sevres emblem, which was used by this renowned firm who decorated Sevres blanks in their own studio in the Sevres manner. Their work was exceptional and is often mistaken for Sevres.
The box is in excellent condition with patina to the ormolu closure.
