Presented for sale is a pair of 19th century hand painted Paris Porcelain plaques painted in the style of Sevres mounted in gilded ormolu frames with two candle arms. The plaques are painted with a center medallion, one depicting an 18th century musician leaning on a garden pillar against a pastoral landscape, the other a strolling woman carrying a basket. The cerise border is embellished with floral sprigs of gilded impasto work.
The plaques mount to the wall via a metal hook and are in very good condition with minor gilt wear. As with other older frames, there is a small gap between the frame and the plaque, but the plaque is secure and the gap hardly noticeable when hung.
Size: 17 ½” Height x 9 ¾” Width.
