Presented for sale is a stunning pair of Austrian Majolica wall brackets or shelves, made by Schutz Cilli. The cornice shaped brackets feature an olive green ground with contrasting cream colored female mask head capitals.
The company was founded by brothers Arnold and Ludwig Richard Schütz in 1854 in the area of Moravia. They started producing their Majolica line around 1870, concentrating on selling to the Austrian and German markets. Their pieces were highly imaginative and artistic, these date around 1900.
They make excellent display shelves, are ready to hang, and are in excellent condition with interesting detail to the molding.
