Presented for sale is a fabulous German porcelain figurine of a mounted soldier, titled "Le Prince Eugene." The figure depicts Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663 – 1736) one of the most successful military commanders in modern European history. He eventually held the highest office of the Hapsburg Imperial Court in Vienna even though he had been born in Paris to aristocratic Italian parents.
The figure is in excellent condition, a superb showpiece for a cabinet, shelf, or man's desk. Many factories produced groupings of soldiers in porcelain which are highly sought after by military collectors. In our opinion, the figures made by the German firm of Kister, Scheibe-Alsbach are of superb quality. Made from a good heavy weight hard-paste porcelain, they are expertly hand painted with finely detailed features.
Size: 11 ¼" Height by 8" Length.
