Offered for sale is a late 19th century Royal Crown Derby oval platter in an Imari pattern with deep underglaze cobalt blues embellished with overglaze iron red and green enamels stepped up with gilding.

Andrew Planche and William Duesbury founded the Derby Factory in 1750. The company quickly became established as one of the premiere manufacturers of high quality china in England. Their products were so esteemed that they were awarded royal warrants by King George III and Queen Victoria, thus eventually becoming The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company. Rich colors and intricate gilding remain the distinguishing features of Royal Crown Derby, and their vibrant Imari patterns, some of the most highly collected china in the world.

The platter is in very good condition with age related use wear showing to the gilded band framing the center. This is a splendid showpiece for display.

Size: 19” Length by 16 ¼” Width.
