Presenting a elegant set of eight, circa 1900, Spode bone china game-fish plates; each plate hand painted with a named species of fish.
These plates were once retailed by Thomas Goode & Co. Ltd. of London, a prestigious store in the heart of the Mayfair district. Since its foundation in 1827, this prestigious retail store has supplied fine china and decorative arts to the royal families of Europe and Great Britain.
The plates are decorated with a wide border of gilded grillwork surrounding a hand painted scene of fish swimming in their natural habitat. There are seven different fish represented.
The plates are in excellent condition with little to no gilt or enamel loss, a fine set for cabinet display.
Size: 8 ¾" Diameter.
