An exquisite pair of 19th century Rococo Meissen cabinet plates, decorated by an outside studio, with raised scalloped edges picked up with gilt surrounding a French Blue border. The center is embellished with raised gilt impasto tracery and frames a hand-painted scene of frolicking cherubs.
The plates are in excellent condition with very minor gilt wear and two small pin-hole firing indentations (original to the plate) on the border of one plate. There are two slashes through the mark denoting Meissen blanks decorated by another studio or an independent decorator.
Size: 8 ¾" Diameter.
